The combination of biodegradability and efficiency

Thermo JSThermo Js or TJs is born after several years of researches lead by textiles specialists. It is an organic layer of mulch made of vegetal fibres which have been subjected to a thermal treatment.

Thermo JS is made of 90% organic vegetal fibres of excellent quality and 10% bio-fragmented fibres.

TJs is not subjected to any form of needling. The vegetal fibres are stratified and the binder fusion guarantees the solidity of the product. All the fires are fixed horizontally shaping 1 or 2 mm thick layers.

Contrary to “needled” felt in which every hole can become the haven of undesired plant roots, the surface of TJs is very regular and guarantees a perfect protection of the soil. This innovative technique makes TJs the best organic mulch on the market. It prevents the development of weeds during all its efficiency period.

The production of TJs is now industrial and the manufacturing cost stays very close to classical needled felts

IMPORTANT :

From September 2006, TJs will be available pre-needled in X or T on request, according the desired density/volume.

TJs is available in 800, 1000 or 1200 g/m² depending the time of protection needed.

The excellent permeability of TJs preserves gas exchanges in the soil layers. It reduces heaving (plant roots forced upward out of soil) and prevents weed growth. TJs conserves moisture in the soil and reduces the need for frequent watering. As an “insulating layer”, TJs protects the young plant roots against early or late frosts.

In order to guarantee a perfect isolation of the mulch TJs, can be used with Thermodisc® discs. They are felt discs of 26 or 30 cm in diameter, and are available in 350 or 700g/m2.
